From my e-mail inbox today (sent yesterday but not read by me until this morning), re the Dickau/Morrison Charity Classic:

Dan Dickau Signs with Italian Team (http://hosted.verticalresponse.com/239956/c88e3edf7e/611000226/f7153c10b0/)

It was announced Tuesday that former Gonzaga All-American guard Dan Dickau became the latest NBA player to agree to join a foreign team when he reached a deal with the Euroleague team Avellino.

"Our aim was to find a player that could make a difference and dictate the tempo of our team," Avellino club president Vincenzo Ercolino told Euroleague.net. "He is a serious professional with NBA experience. We have nothing to envy of any other playmaker that arrived in Italy this year."

While Dan is excited for this new opportunity for his career and his family, he regrets to announce that he will have to miss his annual poker tournament and charity basketball game. He must report to Italy right away to join his new club and prepare for the upcoming season.

Dan and his family have put a lot of hard work into this year’s charity events and want to make sure they go on, despite his absence. The celebrity poker tournament will still be held at Northern Quest Casino on Wednesday September 3rd with the Spokane All-American's Charity Classic the following evening at the McCarthey Athletic Center.

And, from that same e-mail:

• Adam Morrison Golf Classic tomorrow! [i.e., today!]

Adam Morrison will be holding his annual golf tournament tomorrow August 14th. The annual Adam Morrison Golf Classic presented by the Odom Corporation will take place at the Wandermere Golf Club. Money raised from the event will benefit the local chapter of the American Diabetes Association.

Celebrities Craig Ehlo, Mark Rypien, a foursome from Gonzaga as well as others will be participating. There is still room left to join. For more information visit: www.morriesbbworkout.com.

There will be a silent auction and dinner at Fizzie Mulligans following the tournament. The auction will be a great opportunity to donate money to help a worthy cause and also come away with some great prizes.
Gosh! How did that sneak up on us without a reminder, so we could flog it here???? Sorry, Adam.

BTW, I bought our tickets early and got great seats. Regardless of whether Dan will be there or not, I want to support the charity and to show folks like Jannero Pargo and the other NBA players who graciously give time to this event that Zag fans appreciate what they do in coming to our little corner of the universe.

Who else is going to be there?
