Gonzaga takes on Oklahoma State in Round 1.

The other two teams on GU's side of the bracket are Georgetown/Wichita State

The other side of the bracket:

Great news - this gives us a good possibility to play Georgetown for the first time:D

I'm not sure if we could have gotten a better seeding. A championship in this tournament would go a long way to maintaining a top "whatever" ranking. Go Zags!!!!!!!

I was hoping that we did not have to play Michigan State or Tennessee in the second round. This is good news. If we play like we should, we should get to the championship game. Cool.:)

Starting out the season with three wins over Oklahoma State, Georgetown and Tennessee...GU would be top 5 without a doubt. :)

The question will then be where NJZag's loyalties will lie. :p

A Georgetown poster claims they got this from the Maryland Board - but it's different from what Angelo says... Couldn't find it on the actual OSC Site

No gimme games. This has to be the toughest field for any 8 team tourney ever.

Oke State is supposed to be very good this year. I'd like to see the Zags start with a W but it won't be easy.

But since it's only July, I'll say I'd rather play Sparty or UMD in the finals cuz we already play Tenn. @ Tenn.

Ok St's James Anderson is going to be a handful for the Zags to contain. Lottery pick material.

Two web sites are confirming the sked below. Looks like GU will take on the winner of the Maryland/Michigan State game:

My conclusion about brackets may well have been wrong. It was based on the statement in the Washington Times article (now apparently off the WT's website), that Georgetown and Md wouldn't meet unless it was in the final.

I'm assuming (hoping) those times are EST. Please?

Agree that Ok St. is a tough first test with Anderson, but I really hope for wins to stay off of the dreaded ESPNU!

This worked out nicely for the Zags.

If we beat Oke State, we likely play Sparty (Big-10).
If we lose to Oke State, we likely play Terps (ACC).

The first two games are nice BCS RPI boosts. If, by chance, we beat Oke State, then lose to Sparty, we probably play Hoyas or Vols.

Not shabby.

If, heaven forbid, we lose games 1 & 2, we could still play Siena which will most likely be dancing in March.

Wichita State is really the one team I want to avoid. Beat Oke State and we will.
