Hmmmmm.... Abe's a buddy of Cathy McMorris Rogers, Republican rep for Spokane's congressional district, and I had a hunch that if anyone could grease the skids with the State Dept. to get Bol Kong a Visa, she might be the one to do it .... That would be nice, wouldn't it?

Bring on those Canadian ballers!

"Look for the coaches/family to give further information. More news when they want it known. Medical privacy is a bigger deal than it used to be." <from yesterday.

MUM!!! MUM I say! MUM to you!!! Say no more!!!!..MUM !!

Oh! Hooray! That's even better!

Now, Abe, all you have to do is put your head together with our 5th District Rep and make my incorrect guess become reality.

Abe, I am simultaneously cursing your name for posting and not giving more info and praising you for such a potentially wonderful post. I should just be patient and wait, but I want to be patient later... :)

Seriously, thanks for "being mum". :)

Abe you realize that you are having a negative impact on Spokanes economy right now.....

Everyone is checking the boards every 5 minutes instead of getting their work done.

I think Abe's pulling everyone's leg!

A day of hope, even when there is no ### of gold at the end of the rainbow, is better than 12 hours of doom and gloom.

Right, Abe?

...how about this, from the the free dictionary (http://acronyms.thefreedictionary.com/MUM)?

MUM Maharishi University of Management
MUM Managing Uncertainty in Medicine
MUM Manned and Unmanned (US Army)
MUM Maximum Useful Magnification
MUM Mera Urdu Messenger
MUM Meters Uber Meer (German: meters above sea level)
MUM Monthly Update Meeting
MUM Multi Use Manuscript
MUM Multi Use Message
MUM Multiplexer Uplink Module
MUM Mumbai (Bombay), India
MUM Mobile Agent Based Ubiquitous Multimedia Middleware
MUM Multi User Maze

My pick is "managing uncertainty in medicine"

Thus, Daye's ACL was incorrectly diagnosed as a tear, when it is only a strain. He'll be back on the court by Nov. 1.

Either that, or an announcement that spokane is 750 meters above sea level.
Or, Daye is moving to Bombay?
Transferring to Maharishi University of Management?

"Honor the mum?"

Isn't that what British folks call their moms? Are the Zags after any PSAs from England?

MUM---there are 2 good words that both start with M. MINOR and MENISCUS, don't know about the U.

"Isn't that what British folks call their moms?"
And at one time their queen. Queen Mum is dead now but we can still honor her on her birthday which is coming up fast-- On August 4th Queen Mum would have been 108 if she were still alive.
Nice bit of trivia but somehow I don't think that's what Abe has in mind.

MMMmmmnnn. If there has to be rumor, innuendo, hinting, vague enticement, gossip, and suspense, then

this is my favorite kind -- because it is in a positive direction.

Like your parents announcing they probably have worked out the details for what will be the best vacation ever, but they can't say anything more. Or like Santa will be bringing a truly special gift for xmas.

Suspense when you know the result is good is so vastly superior to ambivalent suspense.

The news is likely very good.

There are compelling reasons why Abe or Bob or I can't release it now.

Stay tuned. I don't expect it to be made public today, but probably within the week.

Special note to 229: unfortunately, the news will not be an announcement of a BCS school coming to play in K2 this year. :)

Last night there was a thread reporting that Austin Daye was getting 2nd opinions and that maybe a newspaper down there was reporting that it wasn't a torn ACL. Where did that go?

Or maybe I dreamt the last part.

If i remember correctly BZ had a picture of the titanic sinking when Dayes injury was announced. Now the titanic is rising. Therefore I will speculate that Dayes injury is not nearly as bad as thought to be at first. Wishful thinking maybe, but I am trying to put two and two together here.

I hear if you put two magnets together, the resonance between them produces an image of Celine Dion. Then again, perhaps not. Magnets are prone to error.
