Austin in the Say No Classic Summer League: A first time poster said on this board that Austin would indeed be participating in the Say No Classic Summer League in LA this year. I don't know how true that is, but I've been looking for news about it, because it was a lot of fun last year reading reports of his stellar play there, against some of the best players from California. (Last year's thread here (http://guboards.spokesmanreview.com/showthread.php?t=4609).)

The Say No continues play Saturdays & Sundays every weekend (except July 5th & 6th) through August 10th, and the league championship game is August 16th. There are two venues: The Hangar (HAX) in Hawthorne, and Cal Poly Pomona.

Say No Classic Website Schedule Page (http://www.saynoclassic.com/schedule.html): Last year, Austin played in the Pomona Division, for team CABC. They played on Saturday, the 21st. The site should have some scores up, but they don't as yet.

CaliforniaPreps.com (http://californiapreps.rivals.com/default.asp?type=3) (Rivals Subscription): Published game reports last year. They have a story up about Saturday's games in the Los Angeles division (http://californiapreps.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=820135), but not the Pomona Division yet.

War on the Floor - Tyler Honeycutt and Deandre Daniels: The front page of CaliforniaPreps.com linked above features a story about the War on the Floor (http://californiapreps.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=820287), where Tyler Honeycutt scored 18 points en route to a 78-49 romp over Clovis East. They'll play Van Nuys in the semifinals at 7:00 pm.

Also mentioned in that story, with a pic on the cover page, was Deandre Daniels (2010)

Daniels played for Renaissance Adademy in La Canada this past season but then was believed to have changed residences to Tennessee, where he played for the Nashville Celtics, but now is enrolled at Taft in LA for summer school and might be continuing there into the fall, per a story on the LATimes varsity blog (http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/varsitytimesinsider/2008/06/boys-basketba-9.html). He had apparently previously transferred from Louisiana in coming to Renaissance.

Daniels' Taft team plays Reseda at 6:00 pm tonight, in the other semi-final game.

Taft High School = Jordan Farmar's high school. Also the same HS that produced Larry Drew Jr.

Good to see that Daniels is staying in So Cal. The Zags are interested in him.
