From The Columbian (http://www.columbian.com/sports/localNews/2008/06/06102008_Dickau-hosting-hoop-camp-golf-tournament.cfm):
Veteran NBA guard Dan Dickau doesnít know where heíll play next season, but the Vancouver native has a handle on some of his summer plans.

Dickau, currently a free agent who played for the Los Angeles Clippers this past season, will play host to a youth basketball camp and charity golf tournament locally this summer.

The Dan Dickau Basketball Camp takes place July 7-10 at Battle Ground High School. It is open to boys and girls from grades 3 through 9, with a limit of about 150 players. The cost is $99. For more information, contact Washougal High School coach Travis Drake at 907-0991 or travis@dandickaubasketball.com.

Dickauís charity golf tournament is scheduled for Aug. 30 at The Cedars on Salmon Creek. It is a four-man scramble, with a cost of $150 per player. The entry fee includes tee prizes, lunch and dinner. As it did last year, tournament proceeds benefit Courts for Kids, a Clark County-based charity that builds sports facilities for underprivileged children in developing countries.

To enter the tournament or inquire about sponsorships, contact Derek Nesland at 521-0592 or Taylor Vilhauer at 513-9491.Dan's Website: (http://www.dandickaubasketball.com/) There's an undated interview on Dan's website, which also links to the page about Dan and Adam's "Spokane's All-American Charity Classic" (new name). No news there, though about this year's event. I hope they do bring it back this year and that we get to welcome folks like Jannero Pargo back again.

For all you do, Dan, thanks!

Saw Dan last week in Vancouver . He looked good and seemed to be very relaxed. A good guy. I hope he can land a contract to play for a couple more years in the NBA if that is what he wants to do. Might be tough with all the guards coming in via the draft and all the foreign players coming into the league. Portland Blazers signed a guard from Spain yesterday. Supposedly a big stud, but not being a follower of Spanish pro ball, I don't know anything about him.

The Charity Classic this year will be the BB game & the Poker tournament only - no golf tournament (and with ZN's post about the Vancouver golf tourny, I now see why).

According to the Athletic Dept, it is tentatively scheduled for September 3 - 4. Info should be posted on the GU website withing 1-2 weeks. :)
