I found the following piece in a Rivals article:

Kevin Noreen will be attending a Gonzaga Elite camp at the end of June that includes a special invite list of only 12 players.

I was wondering if anyone had the list of the other 11 that will be attending?

Would be interesting. I'm kind of wrapped up in the '09 class and haven't thought much beyond, but am always impressed the vision Few & staff bring.

In recent years Gaddy, Bradley and Jordan have all attended. Let's hope this camp is more fruitful.

Not sure exactly who will for certain be there, but the staff is trying for--

Kevin Noreen
Bak Bak
Solomon Hill
Anthony Stover
Tyler Honeycutt
Josh Smith
Joe Burton
Sam Dower
Abdul Gaddy

--and probably a few more bigs and wings with some guards.

Do they split the elite camp into different grade levels? 2009, 2010, etc.?

No. They'll split into groups by position, more likely.

I've had a feeling that Kevin Noreen could become a very special player. I love everything about him. He really strikes me as a Robbie Hummell type, or a cross between Austin Daye and Casey Calvary. Noreen would be, imo, a terrific way to start the 2010 class, much like Mangisto Arop was a great way to start the 2009 class.

ZN, you think you can dig up any videos of Noreen, Burton, or Honeycutt, maybe? Actually any of the recruits that we are looking at would be nice. I would appreciate it!:D

When does the camp start, and will we be given updates on it whether from the board or maybe Scout.com? Hope to see something similiar to New Mexico's camp update. It had all of their prospects from '08, '09, '10, with what thet got from the camp(offers and experience). Hope to see an update:)

It would be nice to see us pick up Burton:D

MZ, I'll look, but I haven't seen anything yet in the research I've done so far. (My DSL connection is so slow, I tend not to focus a lot on videos.)

As you know, pics are my obsession, and I've found a couple of nice ones of Kevin so far:

From a story on 2007-2008 award winners in mnsportpreview.com (http://www.mnsportspreview.com/2008hoopsawards.html), Kevin's pic as a member of their "All-Diaper Dandy Team" (not much there aside from his name on the team) and this pic:

From a story in the Minneapolis Star-Tribune (http://www.startribune.com/sports/preps/17126931.html) about Kevin's Minnesota Transitions Charter School's game for the 1A state championship March 30, 2008 (MTCS lost 63-81). Kevin's on the left:

And from a linked photo alum in the Star-Tribune story (this photo is all there was of Kevin in the album):

From a story on minnesotasportsonline.com (http://www.minnesotasportsonline.com/newsarticle.php?yid=0708&nid=27382) about Kevin and his brother Kyle making the Class 1A all-tournament team. I'm guessing Kevin's third from the right.

For some balance to the glowing reports I tend to focus on, you can check out minnesota-scores.net's basketball forum (http://forum.minnesota-scores.net/viewforum.php?f=1&sid=47ce2f53da925d1109a630857eaec260). (i.e., the inevitable "Kevin Noreen isn't all that, and neither is his dad, the coach," which is often what talented kids get on hs forums)

I'll have to follow Kevin more next season. Being on a 1A school in the Twin Cities is like playing for Summit High in Seattle, the majority of the focus is on the bigger school kids.

Tremendous volume of skilled, talented kids. I didn't know we had an ELITE camp. DO we have ELITE coaches with some NBA type experience? (e.g John Stockton) It would be so terrific to have the John's Ronny's Dan's, etc come support the program. I'm sure Coach Few is thinking of recuits. If we only snagged 3 of those BZ posted, it would begin a new legacy and method for recruitment for GU. It's a thought....;)

MDABE80, I believe it was at one of these "elite camps" where Coach Few offered Steven Gray "on the spot". Hence, since coach Few has a track record of offering at these, I wouldn't put it past him to do the same here. Especially with the collection of talent that BZ has mentioned.

A young man will need to really make a great impression to get one though (like Gray did). I also believe, that coach Few will not "waste time" on players he does not believe he can get. In other words, if they come to the camp, they are certainly "gettable."

I think you are spot on MickMick. Do you think the "Elite Camp" is when scholarship offers will be made the '09 group? Seems like the perfect time.

Reading an Arizona board the other day, I noticed that others are very aware of Tyler Honeycutt.

Yup.

Gray's Bainbridge HS team was at a GU Team Camp when Few offered him. UCLA, USC, Arizona, Stanford, etc., etc., all have elite camps mainly used to enhance recruiting. It's about time Gonzaga joined the crowd.

I noticed the slight distinction here.

Gray was offered at a "team camp" for Bainbridge High School. The "elite camps" described in this thread are different as they are a group of selective players that Gonzaga has invited on an individual basis.

If this is the case, then I stand corrected on what I wrote earlier about Steven Gray. Now I understand how CDC regards the offer to Gray as a rather remarkable event. I would think it is much more unlikely for a coach to extend an offer during a high school visit.

exactly right, not a lot of competition in those 1A programs. anyone know what AAU team he is on? i wouldn't mind checking out a game or two while im in town for the summer.

Edited to add: I just found the Minnesota Magic's website (http://www.magicbasketball.org/). In the upper left on that web page, there's a link that might help you to find out where they might be playing in coming weeks.
