It certainly makes it quite clear as to why he chose the Zags!

Meanwhile, Mangisto Arop, a 6’6” forward from Edmonton, AB, has already committed to the University of Gonzaga (NCAA) in Spokane, Washington, for 2009, but will first complete his final year of high school next season.

“The coaches at Gonzaga are fantastic,” said an enthusiastic Arop. “Rob Sacre is there, Bol Kong is headed there, so there’s going to be three Canadians. Plus it’s close to home -- it’s only an eight hour drive or so -- so my family can come down and visit a lot.”

The closeness of Gonzaga to many of the Western Canadian provinces is one of the reasons why I believe that the Zags have landed all three players.
The East coast (Ontario and Quebec) is always full of more hype (sorry Spy) about conferences back east whereas players from the Western Provinces generally are more isolated and see the program for more than just the hype........For what its worth.
