UConn is a likely top 5 team next season when the Zags play them in the "Battle in Seattle". A great opportunity for a "signature" win.

Not a big fan of Calhoun, but wouldn't wish skin cancer on anybody. Sounds like it was metastatic, but surgical margins were clear, and SQCC is not nearly as aggressive as melanoma.

Calhoun, who missed all or part of several games last season due to illness, said he knew something was wrong because he was more fatigued late in the season than usual. He felt a lump in the the upper right side of his neck near the jawline that doctors initially thought was a swollen lymph node or cyst. A needle biopsy revealed it was squamous cell cancer. He had surgery May 6 to remove the lump, several surrounding lymph nodes and part of his salivary gland. Subsequent tests revealed all of the cancer had been removed.

Radiation should keep him in the clear. He's lucky!

No question UCONN talent is much improved with the additions of Majok, Walker and possibly Miles. Top 5? Has to be a stretch at this point. Majok is probably the real deal and hype rankings aside he may be the # 1 talent in this years class.

Big question is, how quickly can Walker become a UCONN pg? Of the three McDonald's AA they've had at the poistion, El Aamin, Taliek Brown, and Price, it took El Amin one day to assume control, Brown 1.5 years and Price never has mastered it. How long for Walker? Freshman get rattled very easily.

Miles is the wild card. Over the past two years, UCONN's woeful three point shooting has sunk the team to depts not seen in Storrs since the mid-eighties. Miles and Haralson are supposed to cure that. As of this date, Miles is trying to get academicaly qulaified, his scholarship is still on the table, and UCONN is at its limit. Meaning, if he qualifies, someone will need to get bounced from the team. Take your pick which player. Thabeet, Adrien, Dyson, Austrie and Edwards are safe. Fair game after that.

Today, assuming you really have Hertfelt back, not the Josh shadow I saw in 08/09 but the real Heytfelt, got to be Zags by 15. If Walker, Majok and Miles come together and don't play like freshman, Zags by 2.
