In a little less than a month (5/7/08), the NCAA will release the latest APR. Ohio State is one big name MBB program that is expecting to lose at least one scholarship:
From the article, it appears that the Buckeyes know they won't clear the APR hurdle. OSU's last running APR score was 902 and they had one "0 for 2" (left school before completing the term, academically ineligible to play the next term) guy, Gregg Oden.
In the WCC, only USF seems to be in APR peril. Their last multi-year APR score was 895, and during the 06-07 season, they had two MBB players who withdrew before completing the term in which they were enrolled, likely both "0 for 2" guys, Antonio Kellogg and Armando Surratt. If the numbers hit from Kellogg and Surratt is enough, 2 scholarships may be in peril.
Gonzaga will probably suffer an APR hit because of Ammo's departure for the NBA.
I imagine that coaches like Ben Howland and John Calipari are begging players like Love, Collison, CDR and Rose to please, please complete the current semester/quarter.
