Assuming that GU is searching for a 6'9" 255 pound JUCO transfer to play the post in 08, who is out there? I have been playing around trying to find JUCO scouting reports and recruiting services but am not finding much. There is a guy who runs "Ballstars.net" that specializes in finding JUCO kids for D-1 schools, but he sounds pretty doubtful on any good JUCO posts being available. Any rumors? Anybody know where GU coaching staff looks to find guys like Batista, etc.?

If nothing is at the Juco level, then likely overseas. Just conjecture.

Trivia:

How did Errol Knight, Dan Dickau, and Micah Downs arrive?

Just sayin'

Interesting thought. I haven't heard a a disgruntled big bailing out of a program, anyone else?

Even if that was the case would they be sitting out for a semester?

UConn is cutting Kelly lose, and Mandelove may be joing him. Each have two years of eligibility left.

Last year someone posted a link to a site showing all the kids that were transferring (in relation to some Pep transfers). Must have been 50-60 names on the list.
In any case the guy would have to sit a year + the Zags have no schollies.

Didn't stop us from offering one to Jeff Taylor.

Which would seem to make it even MORE difficult to offer another.

Umm,
I'm confused by your response.

I think sittingon50 is saying that if Jeff Taylor were to come to GU next year then it would make it even harder/more interesting to offer another scholarship. Because two people would have to go...

Just wait, Rob will blossom next year and we then won't need any JUCO transfers.

I REALLY REALLY hope I am wrong but from what I have seen of Sacre this year I don't see him as a back-to-the-basket low post player. Not sure I can put my finger on exactly what it is, but Sacre just seems too fragile. After watching 240 pound players bounce off Kevin Love like bugs off a windshield, I don't see Sacre being that sort of player no matter what kind of summer he has. Thus my question about JUCO (or international) options for a low post.
