    2008-2009 Scholarships

If my memory serves me correctly we have 3 open scholarships for next year. Kuso's, Pendo's, and Theo's. We have Gibbs, Goodson, and Poling coming in. If we were to get Jeff Taylor someone would have to go? Who would it be?

I don't it's fair to speculate. The coaches wouldn't have offered if they weren't convinced there would be room, whether the room will come from a transfer, early exit for the draft, or whatever. Anything we say here is just pitting one player's value against another's value and guessing blindly about things we have no way to know.

I agree ZagNative. Why offer if it is a Moot Point.

I also agree. There are too many possabilities and we have no clue what players/coaches have said. Play it one situation at a time.

I also agree totally. We don't need to create problems.

However, reading this post made me think of the excellent scholarship chart that BZ put together back on 6/11/07 and updated on 1/16/08 (the thread titled "Zag's Scholarship Chart" is now closed.)

Maybe with a little persuasion, we can get BZ to update it and re-post.

Don't want to take credit for that. I think it was NJ that had done it. Perhaps we need to dig it up/repost it and pin it for the post season/recruiting season.

Here's ZN's slightly more current version, with some prospects at the bottom we've talked about here (doesn't include the walk-ons):

Yes. Rangerzag's post is the chart I was refering to.

ZN, nice update to the chart. Well done.

I agree with LIZF. Need to pin it for easy reference.

What about a redshirt? Does that count against a scholly?

If Jeff Taylor doesnt commit I dont see anyone leaving, just that simple.

I don't see that as necessarily true. Jeff might decide on Texas, and Pargo or one of our other guys might still jump - too early, doubtless, but they might. On the other hand, if the coaching staff sits down with players after the season and assesses their progress and their prospects for playing time in the future, somebody might decide to take their chances elsewhere.
