Compliments of LaRev (http://larev.blogspot.com/), an interview from Hoopaddict.com (http://hoopsaddict.com/2008/03/07/where-the-heart-is-an-exclusive-interview-with-ronny-turiaf/).

But if you ask the man himself what makes him, and the rest of the Lakers such an imposing team, itís not their well-defined roles, their penchant for making YouTube-worthy highlights, or their ability to overcome incredible set backs, itís their ability to step out on that court and have fun.

From the La Times (http://lakersblog.latimes.com/lakersblog/2008/03/unfortunately-t.html):

Ronny Turiaf: More than simply an energy guy tonight, Ronny provided 9/4/3, along with a block, hit a couple of big shots from the perimeter in the second quarter as the Lakers started to get their act together on that end.
Cool little post-game item. As I was entering the locker room, I saw Ronny Turiaf in the hallway taking a few pictures with a kid about probably 5 or 6 years old. About ten minutes later, Turiaf was giving the little man a tour of the locker room, pointing out Kobe and introducing him to Lamar Odom. As I was leaving, Ronny was snapping a picture of LO and his buddy. I imagine this kid was pretty amped the entire ride home.

Ronny is just a quintessential great guy. A people person wrapped in a big, talented, athletic human being who loves life and lives it every minute.

He could teach our current crop so much. And having fun in the process of taking charge and challenging your opponent blow for blow would probably be the key.

I couldn't be happier for him. And clearly he is working hard to cement his place in the bigs and in the hearts of everyone fortunate enough to meet him.
