    WCC Commish Gilleran announces retirement

WCC head honcho Mike Gilleran announced his retirement effective May 31, 2008. My wish for the new commish would be to get the WCC back on the Thursday-Saturday game days and all at decent times. Probably won't happen with the TV money that gets thrown around but it would be nice. There is a nice Q&A series in this link:

FWIW, didn't he announce this 6-12 months ago?

    regardless, thanks for the link.

Q: Gonzaga is 132-19 in WCC games since the start of the 1997-98 season with nine regular-season titles the past 10 years. What aspect of their dynasty is most impressive to you?

A: There was year they didn't win it? But probably the obvious fact they've been able to sustain such a high level for such a long time. In our industry that span of time (10 years) is like 100 years for GM or IBM. We're at warp speed. It's not what have you done for me lately, but what have you done since lunch time.
