SPOKANE, Wash. – The Gonzaga University women’s basketball team clinched at least of share of the West Coast Conference regular season title for the fourth-straight season after Santa Clara University lost to the University of San Diego Thursday night. With the Bulldogs clinching at least a share of the title, GU has now become the first program to win four straight regular season titles since Santa Clara captured four straight from 1991-94.

The Zags are currently 10-1 in conference with three games remaining, while the second place Broncos are now 7-4. The Bulldogs will look to secure the WCC title outright for the second-straight season when they play at the University of Portland Saturday, Feb. 23 at 2 p.m.

The Zags play Portland tomorrow. A win gives them the outright championship. Heather Bowman, who ranks 14th in the country in scoring, is averaging team highs of 19.5 points and 8.4 rebounds per game for Gonzaga. The Bulldogs have won 14 straight against the Pilots and claim a 29-26 advantage in the all-time series.

Great work by Kelly and the ladies.
